In the present
study, the macro and micro elements present in eleven wild edible plants
consumed by Bodos of Assam from North-East India were assessed.
The study showed
variable amounts of minerals content among the plant species
which are presented herein and discussed. The heavy metals like cadmium and
arsenic were not detected in the plant species.
The investigation
showed that these non-conventional food sources are good sources of minerals
and consumption of such vegetables can replace the malnutrition problems.
